Tijdreiscongres

When: 2020

At an international congress on time travel, people from all over the world gather; they end up in absurd situations. Tijdreiscongres is a comedy suitable for time travellers of all ages and with varying proficiency in Dutch.

To realise this theatre project, we started from the talents of each person. Building bridges is one of our core values. The actors came from 10 different countries. It became an artistic, educational project that promotes knowledge of the Dutch language, the integration process and well-being.

It is directed by Sophie Cocheteux. The text was written by Jeroen Theunissen, who is not only an NT2 teacher, but is also known as the author of several novels and plays with professional companies. Our set designer is Willem Boel. Due to the cancellation of the theatre performances, we were allowed to use his artworks exhibited in the Bruthausgallery as the set. The music was composed by French-British Jean-Pierre Bouchard-Rees.

Culture Cure - Department of Education and Training - Canon Culture Cell of the Flemish Government has chosen "Time Travel Congress" as a practical example:

"Podium aan huis" has put online the recording of our performance in 2020.
