With about 20 actors, newcomers learning Dutch, we perform an up-to-date version of Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream".
The actors and actresses interpret the legendary roles from their own passions, love experiences, their cultural and social backgrounds. What does love mean to them? How do they find the perfect match? With their answers and their imagination, Shakespeare's imagined world is brought back to life.
It was a success everywhere!

In "Midsummer Night's Dream", the stage is populated by creatures of various kinds: a girl from a traditional family who runs away with her sweetheart, an elf king who is jealous because his wife only has attention for their baby, actors preparing a stage show, a horde of elves in the forest, celebrities who will give a big wedding party. As in Shakespeare's play, the various storylines surrounding these characters are woven together."
Sophie Cocheteux, the director supervises and coordinates the entire creation process. She consults with the dramaturge Barbara Van Praet who writes the text, Jean-Pierre Bouchard-Rees the composer who creates music for the scenes and the costume designer Elena Werner. There is a constant exchange of ideas and everything is coordinated so that we arrive at a beautiful, coherent production.
